Child Safety Policy
Effective date: 1 January 2026
At CurioClub, the safety and wellbeing of every child on our platform is our highest priority. This Child Safety Policy sets out our commitments, the standards we hold our vendor partners to, and how we respond to safeguarding concerns.
1. Our Commitment
CurioClub is committed to:
- Providing a safe environment for children to explore, learn, and grow through enrichment activities.
- Upholding the rights and dignity of every child in line with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
- Ensuring all enrichment vendors on our platform meet minimum safety standards before they are approved.
- Acting swiftly and responsibly when a safeguarding concern is raised.
2. Vendor Vetting & Approval
Every vendor undergoes a structured review process before being listed on CurioClub:
- Business verification: We validate the vendor’s UEN (Unique Entity Number) with ACRA records to confirm they are a legitimately registered business in Singapore.
- Manual admin review: Each application is reviewed by a member of the CurioClub team before approval. We check category appropriateness, address legitimacy, and overall credibility.
- Ongoing monitoring: Approved vendors remain subject to review. We act on parent feedback and reserve the right to suspend or remove any vendor who fails to meet our standards.
We encourage vendors to hold relevant certifications (e.g., first-aid training, Disclosure & Barring Service checks, or equivalent Singapore checks for staff working with children) and may make this mandatory as the platform scales.
3. Parental Consent & Supervision
- All accounts must be created by a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or above.
- Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless the specific class or vendor explicitly states that drop-off is permitted.
- We do not collect personal data directly from children under the age of 16 without verifiable parental consent.
4. Data Protection for Children
We apply the highest standard of data minimisation when it comes to children’s information:
- Only a child’s first name and age range are shared with vendors — never their full name, contact details, or school.
- Child data is stored securely and is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
- Parents may request deletion of all data relating to their children at any time by emailing curiopass.sg@gmail.com.
5. Reporting a Concern
If you have a safeguarding concern — whether about a vendor, a class environment, or any other situation involving a child’s safety — please contact us immediately:
- Email: curiopass.sg@gmail.com (mark your subject line: CHILD SAFETY)
We aim to acknowledge all safety-related reports within 24 hours and will take appropriate action, which may include suspending a vendor pending investigation or reporting to the relevant Singapore authorities (e.g., Ministry of Social and Family Development).
6. Updates to This Policy
This policy will be reviewed and updated as the platform grows and as Singapore child-safety guidelines evolve. We will notify registered users of any material changes by email.
